ApodanNordic PharmaPackaging
1962 – A Danish Beginning
ApodanNordic PharmaPackaging was founded in 1962 by John Andreasen under the name Apodan. At that time, we primarily supplied pharmaceutical packaging to Danish pharmacies. In the following years, we acquired several smaller companies in the healthcare sector to expand our activities.
1980s – Structural Changes and New Focus
With the introduction of the new Pharmacy Act in 1980, pharmacies’ own production was centralized under a Pharmacists’ Association called Apotekerforeningen (now Takeda Pharma). This led to a significant drop in sales, and Apodan had to adapt to a new reality.
1987–1992 – New Owner and Packaging Focus
- 1987: Apodan is acquired by Olav Vind
- 1990: Apodan is converted into a limited liability company (A/S), and focuses on the sale of chemicals, nursing supplies and galenic agents – primarily for pharmacies in Denmark and Iceland
- 1992: ApodanNordic PharmaPackaging is established as an independent division with a focus on packaging solutions for the pharmaceutical industry
- 1998: Apodan becomes a holding company, founded by Olav Vind, Henning Frandsen and Morten Lodberg Petersen
2002–2008 – Partnerships and Professionalization
- 2002: Cooperation with Gerresheimer A/S (DUMA products) begins
- 2002: ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certification is achieved
- 2007: The company becomes CE certified for medical devices (Danish approval of medical equipment, DGM)
- 2008: ApodanNordic PharmaPackaging becomes an independent company to strengthen the relationship with business customers and focus specifically on pharmaceutical packaging
2010–present – A Part of Fagron Group
- 2010: ISO 15378 certification for medical packaging is achieved
- 2012: ApodanNordic PharmaPackaging is acquired by Fagron, a global company specialized in pharmaceutical solutions. Together we create the future of personalized medicine
- Today: We work with the development, production and sale of specialized pharmaceutical packaging. The range is continuously adapted in close dialogue with our customers ensuring efficient, flexible, and sustainable solutions

ApodanNordic PharmaPackaging invests in a greener future! We do this by continuously optimizing our production and distribution activities. We recognize that we have a shared responsibility, and our goal is to reduce our environmental footprint and promote responsible packaging production.

ApodanNordic PharmaPackaging works within the development, manufacturing, and sale of pharmaceutical packaging. We use everything from glass and plastic to rubber and aluminum.
ApodanNordic PharmaPackaging delivers to everyone, e.g. pharmacies, hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, health food stores and laboratories in both the Capital Region, Region Zealand, Central Denmark Region, Northern Denmark Region, Hospital Pharmacy Funen (Sygehusapoteket Fyn), and the rest of Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland.
